Free LunchThe Free Lunch Program at the Florence United Methodist Church was started in 1991. Ever since that time, the church has been providing a free lunch every Tuesday and Thursday to anyone who wished to come. The Free Lunch Program is part of the Methodist Church, but we are assisted by many different faith groups who volunteer to cook and serve one day a month. We very much appreciate their help. The menu generally consists of two soups (one vegetarian and one meat soup, both made on-site), bread, fruit, dessert, milk, juice, and coffee. Most of the people we serve are people in need, but everyone is welcome. Some people come not so much for the food as for the fellowship. We see all age groups, from seniors to families with young children. You are most welcome to drop by any Tuesday or Thursday, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. to have lunch with our guests, or drop off a donation. You may contribute securely online with Vanco, the church's trusted ministry partner, or you can mail a donation to: Free Lunch Program of Florence UMC, 333 Kingwood Street, Florence, OR 97439.
There will be NO Free Lunch on Tuesday, December 26th, 2023. |
