Open hearts. Open minds. Open doors.

What to Expect

No matter who you are...

No matter where you come from

No matter what your spiritual journey

Has looked like up to now

You are welcome in this church community...

Following the example of Jesus Christ and with the goal of  "Open Hearts, Open Minds, Open Doors," we welcome with love all persons regardless of race, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation or gender identity to full participation in the life and  ministries of the Florence United Methodist Church.

We celebrate worship each Sunday in the Sanctuary at 10:00am and then gather in the fellowship hall after service for conversation (and snacks).

Adult Bible study meets (except during summer months) at 8:30 am; and kids Sunday School is offered at the 10:00 am service.  (the kids start out in worship with the community and then move to Sunday school.)  Please call ahead for current kids Sunday School schedule.

On Tuesdays and Thursdays a homemade soup lunch is served to all comers in the Fellowship hall from 11:30am to 12:30pm.  Like God’s grace—there is no charge.

Prayer Shawl Ministry meets the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays from 10am to noon to knit and crochet prayer shawls, lap blankets and scarves to distribute to those in need of God’s comfort and healing.

Above all else, when you choose to join us for one of our Sunday Services, expect to be warmly welcomed by our church family.
Our Sunday morning Service, which begins at 10:00 AM, lasts for approximately one hour.  You will find most members of our Congregation dressed informally, though some may choose to dress in a more traditional manner.  Because Florence is a popular weekend location, you'll also find visitors who join us dressed very casually right from a weekend camping trip.  We believe God welcomes us "just as we are," and you will feel very much at home, however you choose to worship with us.
During the early part of our Service, the Pastor will invite everyone to informally greet those around them.  If you are a visitor to our church family, you will easily find that you are genuinely welcome.
Our services typically include readings from the Old and New Testament, and a sermon that helps us understand the true meaning of the Scriptures.  Following the Service everyone is invited join us in our Fellowship Hall for coffee, snacks and friendly conversation.
If you have any questions, please feel free to give us a call at 541.997.6025.
We hope to see you soon!
